Regular eye care helps ensure a lifetime of clear, comfortable vision, as well as, ensuring the prescription is up-to-date. Blurry vision can effect driving, work, school, and reduce the ability to enjoy the world around us. We encourage our patients to have an eye examination yearly. During the exam, we check vision, as well as, look for ocular problems including glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and other ocular health problems. If undetected many of these eye problems can lead to blindness. The exam can also detect systemic problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid problems, and ocular side effects of many medications. Our office is able to communicate with your family physician keeping them aware of your eye health as it relates to your overall health.
The eye exam is especially important for people at higher risk of eye problems, such as, older than 60, family histories of glaucoma, macular degeneration, or other eye diseases.
